Earth is experiencing its strongest magnetic storm in three months. The storm has been underway since approximately 20:00 Moscow time, currently registering at a G3 level. A magnetic storm of comparable intensity was last observed on July 4, 2026.

As previously reported, the storm is accompanied by intense auroras visible at latitudes of 50 degrees and higher.

The event was triggered by the arrival of plasma clouds ejected into space during a surge in solar activity earlier this week.

Forecasts indicate that the geomagnetic field may remain in a disturbed state for approximately another 24 hours.
