A solar parade of planets is forming in the sky
All three planets closest to the Sun, as seen from Earth—Mercury, Venus, and Mars—are converging in its vicinity for the first time since the fall of 2019.
The first magnetic storm of winter is expected today.
The first magnetic storm of December 2025 is expected today, the 3rd. It is caused by a combination of several factors affecting Earth: another coronal hole currently observed in the central part of the solar disk, and the plasma ejection from the X-level flare that occurred on December 1st.
Sunspot complex 4294-4298 has become comparable in size to the largest activity centers of the 21st century, but remains silent.
The Sun continues to display one of the largest sunspot complexes in recorded history, formed from three regions numbered 4294, 4296 and 4298.
