Tomorrow, January 9, weak magnetic storms of level G1 are possible.
Minimum magnetic storms, G1, are expected tomorrow afternoon due to the passage of a medium-sized plasma ejection (PE) that left the Sun on January 6th. Given the strong lateral shift of the plasma cloud, clearly visible in the video, the forecast is quite unstable. With a very slight leftward shift, the ejection will pass by Earth without any geomagnetic consequences, while a "mistake" in the opposite direction could lead to a significant increase in geomagnetic fluctuations compared to predicted levels.
The level and number of solar flares have remained low since the beginning of the year, with no signs of intensifying in the coming days. A moderate increase in solar wind velocity is possible over the next two days due to the appearance of another coronal hole of a rather unusual shape on the Earth-facing side of the Sun.
