The sun remains in a calm state
In the east, on the left (don't ask why the east is on the left on the Sun), another large active region appeared this morning, emerging from the far side, and again, it's empty of energy. Meanwhile, on the far side of the Sun, another 17 flares of class C and higher occurred in the past 24 hours. Why this is happening, and what mysterious force is sucking energy out of everything that's now coming toward Earth, don't ask either. We don't know. If anyone enjoys taking pictures of the Sun from Earth, now's a good time to add to their collection. The star has some of the largest sunspots in recent months.
