The Sun has experienced its third consecutive near-X-class flare. Active region 4455 continues to produce explosions like a finely tuned clockwork. The first two events have already launched a plasma cloud toward Earth. It appears that a third cloud will now follow in their wake.

Conflicting information is coming in regarding the event's magnitude. GOES-18, one of the two GOES satellites, measured it at M9.73, while the second, GOES-19, measured it at around X1.07. The first measurement will almost certainly be included in the catalog, as GOES-18 is considered the primary satellite in the solar system. The flare has not yet appeared in the catalog, and the number of X-class solar events in 2026 has not been increased. We are currently awaiting official information from the catalog operator (NOAA), as well as coronagraph data on the presence or absence of a third plasma ejection.
