The second highest-class X-ray flare has been recorded on the Sun this year. The previous event was observed on January 18th. The flare's magnitude was X1.04. The maximum was recorded at 12:33 UTC. Following the flare, signs of a mass ejection were detected, but the possibility of an impact on Earth is currently considered minimal—the active region where the explosion occurred is approximately 50° from the Sun-Earth line. Impacts on the planet from this angle are only possible for very large ejections. The center of the explosion will be in the direct impact zone on Earth from Tuesday, February 3rd, through Saturday, February 7th.
